Overview

Children’s Fund was incorporated in Washington, DC on February 14, 1997 by Sherlie Scribner. The vision was to improve the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. Children’s Fund continues as an all volunteer, public foundation seeking to support small, local charitable activities in the US and internationally that make a difference in the lives of children.

We work with grassroots community leaders who champion the cause of poor children. We also support those who have moved to other countries and work to benefit children. We provide resources to develop services, fill gaps and help achieve sustainability. We help visionary leaders test concepts and start new charitable endeavors. Additionally, we serve as the fiscal agent for approved programs. Children’s Fund has undertaken many projects in Central America, Asia, Africa, and other locations around the world to provide solutions specific to local needs to address challenging problems.

Since it’s founding, Children’s Fund has made grants to support projects in Cameroon, Costa Rica, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Niger, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Uganda, and Zambia as well as California, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
